For Matt Lawson, it all comes down to the Golden Rule; "We strive to treat all of our clients the way we would want to be treated" he says. This philosophy guides Matt as he works to develop personalized financial strategies designed to help the group's clients relax and enjoy life.

Prior to co-founding Lawson Winchester Wealth Management (LWWM), which he established with Bill Winchester in 2007, Matt spent three years working as a financial advisor in the wealth and investment management divisions of two super-regional banks. In this role, he developed strategies for individuals and business clients – both small and mid-size – designed to achieve their most important goals. Before joining the super-regionals, Matt managed investment portfolios at Merrill Lynch Global Private Client Group, where he worked with high-net-worth individuals and businesses for seven years. Matt’s primary roles at Lawson Winchester are Operations and overseeing Investment Management.

Matt attended the University Of Tennessee College Of Business, where he earned a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in finance. He continued his education into his professional career and earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselorâ„ designation from the College of Financial Planning. This designation primarily focuses on pre-retirement and post-retirement planning along with asset management.

Matt is both dependable and consistent and considers those to be traits that clients find valuable. His main goal for clients is to help them live their best possible life and that is also one of the things that drew him to this line of work: he is able to do what he loves while helping others realize their goals.

A native of Cleveland, Tennessee, Matt currently lives in Chattanooga with his wife, Megan, and their children Vivian and Mac. He serves as Treasurer on the Board of Trustees for Brainerd Baptist School and is a former member of the board of Youth for Christ Chattanooga.
